Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka seems to be loosening his stand on who should be Cord presidential flag bearer in 2017 general election.
Kalonzo, who has in the recent past told opposition chief Raila Odinga to back him for President in 2017 polls as he has done before, now says he is ready to support anyone who will be picked to lead Cord.
“We cannot speak in absolute terms that Kalonzo has to be on the ballot. But if Kalonzo is the solution to deal with Jubilee’s incompetence, then we can also explore that route. I am ready to sacrifice even 20 times, but we need to know that there must be reciprocity,” he said.
The former vice president however said Raila and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula must promise to support him, if he clinches Cord ticket.
Wetangula is also eyeing the presidential ticket. The Bungoma Senator has asked Raila to step aside, as he has failed to win presidential elections three times, 1997, 2007 and 2013.
The 2007 and 2013 elections were, however, disputed.
