Ngilu states that she has a workable manifesto and agenda for Kitui people if they give her a chance to be governor.

According to the former Lands Cabinet Secretary, her key agenda will be to promote education, healthcare, economy, infrastructure, employment creation, empowerment of women youth and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD), equality and fairness in resource allocation, promote agriculture and ensure access to clean water and social other amenities.

Ngilu says that she will push for key reforms within 100 days if she is elected on August 8.

In an interview with the People Daily, the former CS noted that education levels are still low in the county.

She said that despite the national government of offering free primary education and subsided secondary education, the rate of enrollment is still very low.

To boost education, the former CS says that she will establish Early Childhood learning centers in every ward in the county. Ngilu also states that her government, if elected, will supplement various education programs.

On healthcare, Ngilu said that she will equip all hospitals with medicine and modern facilities. She alleged that some of the public hospitals in the county have no medicine despite the county allocating a huge chunk of its budget to health care.

The former CS said that she will push to have a cancer center established in the county.  

‘‘It is unfortunate that the current government cannot afford to properly equip public hospitals with medicine yet they get huge funding from the national government,’’ she said as quoted by the People Daily.

On access to clean water, Ngilu promised to drill dams in very sub-county. She also pledged to drill boreholes and ensure residents have access to clean tap water.

The former CS said that unemployment remains a key challenge that has led to high levels of poverty. Ngilu that if elected her government will give priority to job creation.

The Narc Party leader also promised to unite communities living in the county and address border conflicts with neighbouring counties. 

The governor hopeful said that she will be officially launching her manifesto in the coming weeks with only days left to the August 8 polls.

Ngilu is seeking to unseat incumbent Julius Malombe who is seeking re-election on a Wiper party ticket.

Senator David Musila is also in the Kitui Governor race contesting as an independent candidate.
