Moi University Acting Vice Chancellor Laban Ayiro is poised to revamp the university and for it to regain its lost glory.

He said he wants to ensure that it has the best infrastructure and facilities compared to none.

“As we are talking, we are constructing an ultra-modern gate, construction of perimeter wall which will improve security, construction complex school of law library, construction of 6,000 capacity, erection of floodlights and just completed the construction of 6 modern lecturer room,” he said during their 35th graduation ceremony at the main campus where 4,769 students graduated, Thursday.

“I want to make Moi University great and I cannot do it alone. We need concerted efforts to make this dream come true. I thank the government for their support but we urge them to increase the funding,” he added.

Prof Ayiro revealed that the university has undergone challenges such as increased wage bill, resource mobilization, diminishing government funding, low student enrolment among others.

He urged graduands to use the knowledge gained in class to change the society.
