Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful and Dagorreti South legislator Dennis Waweru has said that if elected he will rally together people from all groups with the sole objective of ensuring the capital city competes globally with other leading cities.
Waweru says he has already initiated a post-election team which will represent all communities, business individuals, educationists and other professionals to oversee his transformation plan.
“During our campaigns, we have already brought everyone with a similar mind on board irrespective of their tribal affiliation, class, social status or even profession,’ Waweru said.
In an interview with a local daily, Waweru said he will take full advantage of the Private-Public Partnership to transform and modernise services to position the city county atop the international hierarchy of blossoming cities.
“My big strategy is to let people own the city county and drive its agenda to evidently attract investors and create thousands of jobs and business opportunities for the youths,” Waweru said.
The gubernatorial aspirant pledged to widely improve infrastructure and other social amenities to enable city residents to access basic needs with much ease.
“The water supplies in the county can only serve 40 percent of residents. I will transform this and ensure all residents get access to clean water, good medical services and travel easily,” he said.
Waweru further promised to allocate more funds to the transport and education sectors, adding that Nairobi’s predicaments could easily be resolved only if it has a good leader like him.
