Muchiri Mukunga says he will make Alliance High School ‘great again’ after taking over Kenya’s oldest institution on Sunday.

The institution is struggling to recover from perhaps the worst scandal of form one bullying, which reportedly led to early retirement of David Kariuki, after eight years in charge.

And the English teacher, who has taught in the institution for 26-years, said he would restore sanity in prefecture and iron our deteriorating relationship between students and their leaders.

“I am honored to take charge and I want to promise that I will make Alliance great again,” he said on Sunday during the institution’s 91 anniversary.

Muchiri, who was First Deputy Principal added: “We may be having a few issues but I will ensure they are sorted out.”

Although he will work on an acting capacity, he was unanimously endorsed by BOM chairman Donald Kaniaru and a host of the institution’s old boys.

The institution recorded a significant drop in 2016 KCSE after registering only 14As, from 207 in the previous year.
