A governor allied to the opposition has said he is ready to work with both President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga's governments.Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong said on Tuesday he will not discriminate against any of the leaders as long as their goal is to champion for development in the county and in extension the country."Busia County is for Raila but that does not mean I should not work with President Uhuru," the county chief said at Nangina Ward while commissioning a water project funded by the county government and USAid."My target is to work with leaders who are pro-development. As long as a leader supports development, I will work with him or her," he said.Raila was inaugurated as the people's president on January 30 following unsuccessful efforts by the opposition NASA to convene a meeting with Jubilee to discuss electoral reforms.Ojaamong said both Raila and Uhuru are welcome to Busia to share ideas on how to develop the county. He took a swipe at former Funyula MP Paul Otuoma whom he said was desperate after failing to make it to Uhuru's cabinet.Otuoma vied for the Busia gubernatorial seat but lost to Ojaamong.
