In an interview with Gidi and 'Ghost' Mulee of Radio Jambo, Waiguru pointed out that her former post at the devolution docket had so much activities that involved all the 47 counties, saying it will be easy for her to handle one county.

"You said your doctor requested you to indulge in lighter duties yet you're moving into politics. Don't you think it's quite opposite, will you manage?" asked Gidi.

"You know, we have the politics of trying to woo voters. The campaign period and all that, then after that we have working for the mwananchi. I am a technocrat and not a politician. But the people of Kirinyaga know what was happening in Nairobi, they were following," she replied.

"And you know there's so much mudslinging, how will you cope with that?" a caller asked.

"While I was a cabinet secretary, so much was said and I'm used to that. Though I can't hit back, I don't know how to call names," said the former CS.
