Former Education Minister and Eldoret East MP Prof Margaret Kamar has challenged Uasin Gishu County residents to back her senatorial seat ahead of the 2017 general election.
Speaking on Tuesday during the burial of acclaimed political leader Wesley Kirorei, in Kapseret sub county, Kamar said she would use her leadership experience to champion for more resources from the National government if elected.
“In 2013 I contested for the gubernatorial seat but then I realized Uasin Gishu County needs my leadership skills at the Senate. My experience will help me fight for more resources for the county at the Senate,” she said.
She is set to battle it out with the incumbent Senator Isaac Melly who she accused of failing to represent the county effectively at the Senate.
