Changamwe MCA Jimmy Odari will not seek re-election in the upcoming August 8 polls.
Odari who lost in the ODM nominations, however, noted that he will make a comeback in 2022 when he will contest for the Changamwe parliamentary seat.
Until then, his focus will now be on his business.
He told the Star in Mombasa on Tuesday that he also plans to set up a foundation aimed at empowering women and youth.
“For the August 8 polls, it’s a done deal for me. I’ll not seek re-election, but rather go back to my business and establish a foundation to empower the youth and women,” Odari said.
“I want to rest for these coming five years. I will make a comeback in 2022 looking for a bigger seat. I want to be an MP,” he added.
