[Photo|Twitter]The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati, has pointed a blaming finger on the commission's secretariat, after the Supreme Court nullified August 8 presidential election.In a press briefing few hours after the court gave its verdict, Friday, Chebukati held a press briefing, where he said IEBC commissioners only took office few months ago, and did not make any changes to the Secretariat.To avoid a similar incident, Chebukati said the Commission would make changes to the Secretariat."It is worth noting that the new Commissioners only took office seven months ago, without any changes made to the Secretariat. To protect the integrity of the sovereign will of the Kenyan people, the Commission intends to make internal changes to our personnel and processes as we prepare for the fresh presidential election in sixty days," he said.IEBC Secretariat is headed by CEO Ezra Chiloba.

According to Chebukati, the Supreme court did not find him with any wrong.IEBC also invited the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko, to urgently and expeditiously investigate and prosecute any of our staff that may have been involved in violation of the Election Offences Act.Chebukati further called for calm across the country, saying: "We wish to assure Kenyans of our commitment to ensure that this fresh election is done in accordance with the Constitution, the relevant laws and that it will reflect the sovereign will of the Kenyan people."
