Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo has dismissed reports that he is a Jubilee mole out to split the Luhya Community votes, after he claimed that the community was given a raw deal in the Opposition alliance NASA presidential arrangement unveiled last week at Uhuru Park.
The NASA deal will see ODM Party leader Raila Odinga fly the outfit's presidential flag, with Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate.
Jirongo was critical of the line up, claiming that the Luhya Community had been shortchanged.
The community had fronted Amani National Congress Leader Musalia Mudavadi and Senator Moses Wetangula for the country's top job under the NASA ticket.
The two are now set to be awarded senior government positions in the event the Opposition wins in the August polls.
But speaking to The Star Newspaper on Wednesday, Jirongo said his criticism of the NASA line up was in the best interest of the community.
“Stereotyping by our leaders is what is annoying me. Those saying that I’m a Jubilee clone for Western just because I’m raising serious issues affecting the community must be stupid and insane. Only a mad man can go to Jubilee for support," he said.
The UDP leader is reportedly in talks with NASA, in a deal that would see him team up with the Opposition leaders ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
