Governor William Kabogo has said that he is not afraid of facing off with his rival Ferdinand Waititu for the governor seat after he was floored in the Jubilee nominations.

Kabogo said that he is re-energised to face off with Waititu in the gubernatorial race.

In a briefing with journalists on Sunday, Kabogo said that he has learned key lessons in regards to the recently concluded nominations.

The flamboyant governor says that he is banking on the development track record his administration has achieved in the last four for re-election.

Kabogo, who will be contesting for re-election as an independent candidate, said that his development agenda will be his weapon against rivals on August 8.

The governor said that his administration has fulfilled 85 per cent of the development pledges it made to locals in 2013.

The governor cited healthcare, infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment as key areas where his administration has realised success.

The Governor who was humiliated in the JP nominations by rival Waititu urged locals to give him a second term.

“I am appealing to Kiambu people to give me a second term so that my government can complete the development projects that it has initiated,” he said.

The flamboyant governor maintained that he was defeated in the JP nominations by malicious propaganda allegedly orchestrated by his rival.

He pledged to spearhead the interests of locals without discrimination if he wins a second term.

Kabogo joins the list of other prominent politicians who lost in the nominations but are now contesting as independent candidates.

Political analysts, however, say that t will be difficult for the nomination losers to make a comeback in the August 8 polls.
