Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has rubbished claims that he is worried of being send packing by his fiercest rival Farah Maalim on August 8.

Duale says that he has not tensed, saying that Maalim does not have the numbers and political muscles to send him home.

Addressing supporters in Masalani in Garissa on Sunday, Duale exuded confidence of wining the seat with a landslide.

“I am not worried of my opponent as it is being reported in some media outlets,” he said as quoted by the Standard.

The Garissa Township MP said that he will win re-election by 8 am on August 8 and asked Maalim to accept defeat.

The MP asked Maalim to surrender the race and save himself from embarrassment.

Duale asked his supporters to come out in large numbers and vote for him promising to tackle as the problems facing them (residents).

The Garissa Township MP also asked residents to endorse President Kenyatta’s re-election.

He said that UhuRuto’s government has delivered on –the manifestos it gave in 2013 and deserves re-election.

He dismissed the National Super Alliance (NASA) saying the Raila Odinga led opposition does not have development agenda for the country and cannot be trusted with leadership.

Duale is facing stiff competition in his re-election bid from Maalim who is vying on Wiper party ticket.

Maalim, a former National Assembly deputy speaker says he has the numbers to send Duale home on August 8.
