He further hailed his administration as the pioneering Kwale governor, noting that he has delivered key pledges made in the run up to the 2013 general elections.
“For the four years I have been governor, development has been realised in Kwale County. As we speak today, 2,801 students from Kwale studying in national secondary schools are receiving 100 per cent county bursary up from 258 in 2013/14,” he noted.
“Diani beach has been declared the best in Africa successively since 2013 because of good environmental management by the county,” he added.
He is set to seek re-election on a Jubilee Party ticket after ditching ODM Party.
He will battle it out with Kenyan ambassador to Tanzania and veteran Coast politician Chirau Ali Mwakwere of Wiper Party and ODM's Issah Chipera.
