Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka says he is not afraid of Senator Moses Wetang’ula contesting the county’s top seat.
Lusaka said he will beat the Ford Kenya leader proper in the August polls, the Star has reported.
There have been claims that the Cord co-principal could shelve his presidential ambitions for the governorship, allegations the Senate minority leader has publicly dismissed.
Lusaka said Wetang’ula is confused, likening him to a person who enters a hotel, orders food but then starts salivating at the meal the other client orders.
“From the looks of things, the senator did not read the menu before ordering for food and it’s unfortunate that he is salivating for the meal I ordered,” said Lusaka as quoted by the Star.
“I want to dare him (Wetangula) who has been lying to people that he will run for the presidency to come and face me. I send him home very early in the morning."
He also claimed Wetang’ula was using MCAs to declare his quest and pretend that he joined the race because of pressure.
“We know that that there is a well-choreographed scheme by Wetang’ula to use a section of MCAs allied to him to first taste waters and later hand pick elders and pretend that they had prevailed upon him to vie for the governor seat,” he said.
Lusaka at the same time said Wetangula has nothing to show for in Bungoma in terms of development for the period he was in Parliament, something he said he has achieved in the four years he’s been governor.
He made the remarks in Webuye West constituency when he commissioned the Poipoi Bridge.
