Machakos Gubernatorial hopeful Wavinya Ndeti has refuted claims of bolting out of the race to unseat Governor Alfred Mutua.
The Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) Party leader says that she is in the Machakos gubernatorial race to stay.
Addressing supporters at Lita shopping center in Kathiani on Saturday, Ndeti accused some people of peddling claims of her quitting the race to unseat Mutua.
“I want to make it clear that I have no plans of bolting out of the Machakos governor race as being speculated by critics,” she said.
Ndeti claimed that critics are going round feeding locals with lies.
“These are the people who are afraid of new leadership and want to frustrate my gubernatorial bid,” she added.
The CCU party leader assured her supporters that she will be on the ballot for Machakos gubernatorial seat come August 8.
Ndeti urged supporters not to listen to propaganda being peddled by rivals.
She pledged to push for efficient and effective service delivery if elected governor int the August 8 general election.
Ndeti is eyeing to unseat Governor Mutua who she accuses of allegedly having failed to deliver services to locals.
The CCU party leader contested for the Machakos governor seat in 2013 but lost to Mutua.
There have been claims that former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is wooing Ndeti to have her contest against Governor Mutua on a Wiper ticket.
Kalonzo has also been wooing Ndeti to dissolve her party and work with Wiper for the unity of the Ukambani region.
Wavinya Ndeti has on several occasions ruled out dissolving her party saying that CCU supports the opposition but will remain independent.
