Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji has categorically stated that he will vie for the gubernatorial seat in 2022.

Speaking during a function at Garissa Youth polytechnic, the senator said that he will be supporting re-election of current governor Nathiff Adam.

"I want to publicly declare today that I am not vying for the gubernatorial seat in 2017 as many of you expect. At the moment I am more comfortable serving our people in the senate. However, I can assure you that I will be contesting in 2022," he said.

The senator urged Garissa leaders to join Jubilee party as it is the only party which seeks to group together all the tribes in Kenya.
