Mudavadi said he is focused to oust President Uhuru Kenyatta in the forthcoming general elections, adding he will not go for any other elective post if not named NASA flag bearer.

“I have said before and I still insist I am in the race to State House but not any other," Mudavadi said during a live talk show on Radio Jambo on Tuesday morning.

The former Vice President was categorical that he would not bolt out of the alliance, adding he would stick to NASA and support whoever would be selected to fly its flag in the August 8 polls.

He stated that as the founder of the alliance, he would not abandon it regardless of the outcome of the presidential nominations.

“A good parent is one who fends for his children under whatever circumstances, and as a good parent, I cannot give birth to a child and then abandon it midstream,” said Mudavadi as quoted by the Nation.

He further disclosed that they are yet to decide on their presidential candidate, adding that they are not in a rush to unveil the flagbearer.

“We are not in a hurry to name our flagbearer. What is more important is that we create an atmosphere where all the parties under NASA feel well represented and their interests well taken care of," he added.
