Celebrated Kenyan footballer Dennis Oliech has laughed off stories doing rounds that he is broke.

The former Harambee Stars captain dismissed as fake an image circulating in social media showing him broke and said it had been photoshopped.

The photo allegedly taken during last weekend’s Koroga Festival caused an uproar on social media after showing a bearded and bald Oliech in a t-shirt with former Harambee Stars Coach Jacob Ghost Mulee.

Oliech has come out saying he will not be bothered with such childish claims from detractors.

“I’m not interested in replying to such useless claims. I do not know why people are fixated with my life even if I take a low profile. I’m now mature and doing well,” Oliech said as quoted by the Nairobian.

“I was at Koroga with friends and took several selfies, and for one with different shirt to appear is just ridiculous,” he said.

He also said he is doing well, hinting that Betway had extended their deal with him and bettered it in terms of remuneration.“The new deal is an improvement on the earlier one and let’s just say I am happy and satisfied with it.

The best part of course is that with the deal, I get to interact with people and do my bit in promoting Kenyan football," he said.

“How much it is worth is not important; the recognition for what I have done for my country and advancement of the Betway brand as well as selling Kenya as a country are the crucial segments of this deal,” he added.
