Speaking during an interview with Citizen  TV on Tuesday, the DP said he had no business meddling in the nominations and accused those who lost of using him as a scapegoat.

"People always look for scapegoats whenever things fail to go their way. That is exactly what those who lost in our party primaries are doing, scapegoating me," he said.

He added that had he been interested in determining  outcomes of the primaries he wouldn't have hesitated to help his political allies who were floored.

"If I was to meddle in the nominations then individuals like Emmanuel Talam who works in my office couldn't have lost," he said.

Talam had contested the Nandi Hills MP seat but lost to incumbent Alfred Keter.

Other big names who also lost in the exercise included Kiambu governor William Kabogo who blamed the DP over his predicament.
