Photo/ nation.co.keFormer Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi who is running for the Kilifi Governor seat on a KADU-Asili party ticket has distanced himself from the Jubilee administration amid claims that he is President Uhuru Kenyatta's 'project' in the race.Kambi who toured the county over the weekend to popularise his bid, said his KADU-Asili party has no affiliations with Jubilee, and maintained that his decision to run was informed by the sad state of the county.According to the former Kaloleni MP, poverty, poor health services and hunger pose a major threat to the residents. He asked residents to reject both NASA and Jubilee candidates, adding that only KADU-Asili has the interests of the county at heart."Our people need water, roads, irrigation projects and heath facilities. Time has come for us to change leadership in order to alleviate the problems we are facing," said Kambi.Slamming the development record of the incumbent Governor Amason Kingi, Kambi claimed that the current county administration is plagued with corruption and wrong priorities.Kambi is expected to face off with five others in the August political contest including the incumbent, Governor Amason Kingi and Jubilee's Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro.
