Ngilu said she is ready to undergo a lifestyle audit.

She said some State officials and civil servants live beyond their means.

"I think the lifestyle audit order by President Kenyatta is okay and will help expose State officials who have been siphoning taxpayers' money," Ngilu said.

Ngilu addressed the press in Kitui town on Sunday.

She said the president's order is in the right direction in the fight against corruption.

Ngilu said corruption is a serious threat to development.

"Unless we come up with stringent measures to tame corruption, development and service delivery to Kenyans will remain a dream," she said.

Ngilu asked politicians across the divide to team up and come with ways of ending runaway corruption at national and county government levels.

Last week, President Kenyatta ordered lifestyle audit on all government workers.

Kenyatta said he will be the first to undergo the lifestyle audit.

The lifestyle audit order is part of the government's new strategy in the effort to combat graft.

Early this month, President Kenyatta orderered for vetting of all government procurement and accounting officers.

The president has vowed to tame corruption, saying that no one will be spared and corrupt officials should prepare to go to jail.
