Nyanumba said, ''I am aware that, a student by the name Maina, is out to tarnish my name. He should come out clearly concerning what he calls corruption within the student union.”

Maina, and a section of law students within the university, had issued a petition to the university management and the student union, claiming that union leaders should be put to task to account for the more than Sh 200,000 which has caused jitters between the two opposing sides.

On Thursday, there was a closed door meeting between the union leaders and the university management concerning the allegations.

The university management has since given the section of law students time to table their claims, a move which has not been taken till now.

Nyanumba however said that the money was meant to pay some of the clubs which had not been given their money after participating in the cultural week.

''The money is actually meant for clubs within the institution. I have talked to the clubs and agreed on when they receive their money,” he added.
