National Super Alliance  (NASA) leader Raila Odinga during a past event. He is set to be 'sworn in' on Tuesday, next week. [Photo/businesstoday.co.ke]An opposition Member of Parliament has vowed not to back down on NASA's push to have Raila Odinga sworn in as the people’s president on January 30 in Nairobi.Suna East MP Junet Mohammed said the oath ceremony scheduled at the Uhuru Park will go on as planned despite the closure of the venue by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's administration.Speaking during a burial of an ODM official in Kericho County on Thursday, the MP said he was ready for any eventuality that would occur during the opposition's big day."I dare say right here in Kericho that the planned swearing in of Raila will go on as scheduled. We are ready to die with him at Uhuru Park if the situation will prove bloody,” he said.Junet said NASA will not abandon the oath plans due to threats by the government, saying the former Prime Minister does not fear to be jailed in his fight for electoral reforms."Raila Odinga has nothing to fear since he had been incarcerated for nine years in 1980s. He has seen the worst of the Kenyan prisons. This one will not be new to those who support him," he said. This was in apparent reference to Attorney-General Githu Muigai who has repeatedly warned that if Raila takes oath he would face treason charges whose penalty is death. "Peace goes hand in hand with justice, and that since Jubilee is unwilling to iron out issues of electoral malpractices in the country, we will go ahead and swear in Raila," Junet reiterated.
