Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has urged city residents to back him for reelection during the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking on Saturday at Railways SDA Church, Kidero maintained that he was best suited for the City's top seat, accusing his opponents of not having interests of Nairobi residents at heart.
He further defended his tenure as governor for the past four years, noting that he has performed exceptionally in delivering key services to the people.
"My main agenda for Nairobi is service to Nairobians and nothing else. We have a good plan that will take this city forward," he noted.
"We must reject leaders who believe in violence. We want to have a peaceful county," he added.
He is seeking re-election on an ODM Party ticket, a coalition partner in the Opposition alliance NASA.
He is set to battle it out with whoever clinches the Jubilee Party ticket between Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and former presidential candidate Peter Kenneth.
Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja has since dropped his gubernatorial bid and will be vying for the Nairobi Senatorial seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.
