Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru says that he is still in the race for Nairobi governor.
Waweru moved in to quell rumours that he had opted out of the to succeed governor Evans Kidero.
Speaking outside Parliament on Wednesday, Waweru accused his competitors of spreading the rumours that he had opted out.
"I am 100 per cent in the race for Nairobi governor. I will be going all the way to the nominations and I will not bow out," he said.
"What you have heard out there are mere rumours and propaganda from my competitors who fear my candidature. I am planning on my campaigns and I am putting together a team," he told Journalists.
Waweru also exuded confidence that he will ultimately capture the Jubilee ticket.
"I want to go to the primaries and I am confident to be the flagbearer for Jubilee in Nairobi," he posed.
Waweru said that it is the people of Nairobi who will decide their next governor, urging them to vote for leaders with vision and passion for Nairobi.
Waweru will be battling it out for Jubilee ticket with Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja, Bishop Margret Wanjiru among others.
