Jubilee politician Charles Mochama has denied claims that he has dropped out of the Nyamira county gubernatorial race.

Mochama said he is still in the race and was confident of winning the August 8 general election as he seeks to transform the county.

Speaking on Thursday in Nyamira town, Mochama told those spreading rumours that he has dropped his candidature to cease forthwith.

“I am still in the race, and those people should stop spreading false information that I'm not vying for governorship. I'm a focused politician who knows what I want,” said Mochama.

He called on county residents to vote for him during the Jubilee Party nominations.

“I promise to work as per the constitution and if you elect me as the governor, I will foster development in Nyamira County,” he added.
