Garissa County Women Rep Shukran Gure has denied claims that she has quit politics
Gure said that information going round on social media is fake, citing that she will contest in the coming elections.
On Sunday while addressing the press, Gure said her Facebook account was hacked by unknown people who wrote on her page that she has quit the race.
She noted that she had recorded a statement with the police over the same.
"I have recorded a statement with the police and have also reported to the cyber crime unit. I know this is all about smear campaigns that is being propagated by my opponents whose sole purpose is to discredit me ahead of the coming elections," she said as quoted by the Nation.
She assured her supporters that she is ready to face her opponents in the ballot, urging supporters to vote her second bid to defend her seat.
