Speaking at Kapsaret during the burial of the former Athletics Kenya President Isaiah Kiplagat on Friday, Wetangula urged other two Cord principals to support his presidential bid.

He said he has what it takes to lead the country.

"I have been in politics for many years and I have the remedy to the problems Kenyans are facing such corruption and unemployment," he said.

"My friend Raila (Odinga) and Kalonzo (Musyoka) contested for the top leadership but failed terribly, so it's time they support me at least for a change," he added.

He however called for a transparent nomination for the coalition's ticket.

"As Cord leaders we want the process to be transparent where each of the three principals will be satisfied," he said.

He urged Kenyans to take identity cards and register as voters for them to be eligible voters.

"Having a voting card is the weapon to choosing the right leadership and it's your democratic right to have it," he said.
