Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has refuted claims that he has been weakened politically by the rise of Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua.

Kalonzo says that he is still the Kamba political kingpin and that no one matches his style of politics.

In an interview with the Standard, Kalonzo asked Ukambani residents not to listen to political brokers who he claimed what to auction the Kamba community by spreading propaganda against him.

“It is laughable to hear some people claim that they are the Kamba spokesperson, when they are not even sure of winning re-election,” he said as quoted by the Standard.

The Wiper Party leader asked the Kamba community to stand with him promising not to let them down.

“I hold your support dearly and I will not be compromised by people whose agenda is to divide us as a community,” he said.

There have been claims that Kalonzo’s political life is slowly dying following the rise of Governor Alfred Mutua.

Kalonzo’s political future has been on the balance after several of his close allies abandoned him and joined the ruling Jubilee party.

A section of Wiper rebel MPs have been calling on the Kalonzo to ditch the opposition if he wants to remain active politically.

The former Vice President has however rubbished calls to have him ditch the opposition, saying he cannot be swayed or lured to Jubilee.

Kalonzo has been castigating the ruling government accusing it of doing little to better the living standards of Ukambani people and Kenyans at large.
