Nairobi-based lawyer James Mamboleo has dismissed reports that he has bowed out of the race to become the next West Mugirango constituency legislator.
Mamboleo declared that he was still in the race for the West Mugirango seat, and trashed talk that he was considering vying for the Township Ward Member of County Assembly seat.
"My attention has been drawn to reports doing rounds on social media suggesting that I have changed my political direction. I wish to dispel those rumours being peddled by my political detractors and categorically state that I am firmly in the West Mugirango constituency race," he said.
Mamboleo's declaration followed speculation on social media that he had bowed out, with the current Member of Parliament James Gesami indicating that he will go for the governor's seat.
