KNUT secretary general Wilson Sossion has confirmed that he will take part in the swearing in of MPs today at the National Assembly.

Sossion recently publicly turned down his nomination after his name was listed in Kenya Gazette on August 25 as one of the nominated members to the National Assembly by Raila Odinga's ODM party.

He said he had other engagements in  his line of duty as the KNUT secretary general.

But in a twist of events, the vocal trade unionist will not be resigning as an MP after all.“I am already at the chambers, ready to be sworn in,” he told the Nation on Thursday morning. After publicly asking ODM party leader Raila Odinga to replace him with another person, Sossion did not write a formal request to IEBC to relinquish his seat.He will today, Thursday take oath of office together with the other members of the National Assembly, before the election of the Speaker and the deputy speaker is conducted.Senators will also be sworn in today.
