Marende who joined the crowded race says that his record speaks for itself and that Kenyans trust his leadership which he says places him above other aspirants.

According to Marende, his seniority in politics places him as the best candidate to manage the metropolitan county.

“I will vie for Nairobi Governor post because it’s the only senior position I can go for before going for Presidency. Nairobi governor is the third most powerful after the President and the Deputy President,” Marende said in Emuhaya over the weekend.

The Kenya Power Board Chair must however brace for a tough battle with the incumbent who is touted as the man to beat in the race.

Others in the race include County Senator Mike Sonko, former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru and Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja.
