Garissa County Governor Nathif Jama has urged constituents to re-elect him for the second and last term.
Jama speaking at Bura town on Thursday said that his development track record is good and therefore, he qualifies for a second term.
He dismissed emerging clan alliance formed ahead of the August 8 polls terming it as tribal and meant to seek favors from the electorate.
“We know some of the candidates and the positions they held while in government. They have nothing to show while they were in their positions but controversies. The electorate is wiser and will not be fooled into electing leaders with questionable backgrounds,” he said as quoted by KNA.
“Going by what took place in the primaries where the seasoned politicians were thrown out, I predict a similar scenario come August 8 polls,” he added.
He argued that it was unfortunate to see aspirants with questionable pasts assume that they can ride on clan endorsement to ascend to power.
"Vote for individuals who will deliver", urged electorates adding that he will ensure that programmes aimed at transforming the county into a one stop destination of business and leisure are fully implemented.
He said his administration would continue to harness available resources to better the lives of the people.
