Wavinya Ndeti has declared herself Wiper's sole contestant for the Machakos Governor seat and said she will not be battling for the slot with anyone through primaries.

This comes just days after Ndeti joined Wiper on April 5.

She is in the team that is working closely alongside outgoing East Africa Legislative Assembly Member Peter Mathuki to dethrone the incumbent Alfred Mutua.

“I am now running for Machakos governor on a Wiper ticket and I am the gubernatorial candidate for Wiper party in Machakos," Ndeti said as quoted by the Star.

She said this on Friday at St Jude Catholic Church, Athi River, in response to claims that Wiper's secretariat had handed her the certificate prior to the nominations.

The Wiper ticket for Machakos has however been a hot cake and Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala is said to be in the race for the same.

After Ndeti's announcement, Wiper was not available for comment although it is reported that Ndeti and Kiala might be forced to work together to form a partnership duo for the race.
