Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i has appealed to his colleagues in the National Assembly planning to impeach Devolution CS Ann Waiguru to stop "harassing" her.
Speaking on Saturday during a development tour of his constituency, Tong'i said Waiguru was the best performing cabinet secretary claiming that it was her who blew the whistle over the alleged misappropriation of funds in her ministry.
“The cabinet secretary was in fact, a whistleblower after she realised that something had gone wrong in the ministry. So let us stop fighting her and fight corruption,” said Tong'i.
The legislator added that Waiguru is among the few public officers who have transformed the country through her work in the Devolution docket.
Tong'i says that instead of rooting for the removal of the CS, the legislators should join hands and come up with laws that will move the country forward and help in curbing corruption at the high offices.
“Let us support the performing CS so that we can move our country to its destiny. It is so bad for us to talk about impeaching performing leaders who have the spirit of transforming this country," added Tongi.
