The equipment included geometrical sets, pads, bens and pencils amongst other materials.

Pals Waganaar, Groups General Manager of Mayfair Holdings said they have spent Sh. 0.5 million to purchase the equipment.

Waganaar said they will also sponsor three students from the ward who will score over 420 marks for their secondary schools.

“Last year we did not sponsor because there was no candidate who scored 420 marks and above. I am challenging them this time round to work hard and grab the opportunity,” he said.

He said every year they have been supporting the candidates in the ward because of their ward representative James Were who has been reaching out to them for help.

Speaking when he handed over the equipment and loaves of bread from Sunblest company for the over 800 candidates, Waganaar wished the candidates a success in their examinations set for next week.

Were on his part thanked the Company for coming to the aid of the candidates in the ward.

He says this is the fourth year his ward is receiving the support noting that most candidates hail from poor families and not able to purchase the examination materials.

“I am grateful to Imperial hotel for the gesture they have shown to the people of my Ward,” he said.

The MCA says he will still reach out to the Company for more help in the Ward.
