The National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) has urged county governments to join the war in fighting plastics that were banned in Kenya a fortnight ago.

NEMA said the process of addressing the hazards caused by plastic bags started with stopping the products' production and importation.

This was followed by mopping up of tons of plastic bags waste in the environment and that the county governments must now move into action to help implement the policy countrywide.

They said c

ounty governments should help with collecting

plastic bag waste in their areas of jurisdiction with the aim of recycling or

safe disposal.
