The National Affirmative Action Fund is set to roll out it's grassroots administrative committees in Machakos County.
This was disclosed by the fund's county co-coordinator Benard Mwendwa who said the committees will have representation of both genders.
Mwendwa, however, said women will take more of the positions in the fund's committee.
He said only residents in self help groups will benefit from the fund in the county.
Mwendwa addressed the press in Machakos town on Saturday.
"For you to benefit from the affirmative fund, you must be in groups. Form or join already existing groups. Since this money isn't refundable, you should have a solid purpose that will be to your advantage," Mwendwa said.
Mwendwa said the fund's disbursement to counties had been delayed by the government.
He advised members of self help and youth groups from the county to draft their proposals of the projects they intend to implement so as to benefit from the fund.
Mwendwa, however, told the locals to be wary of con men who claim are experts in proposal writing hence should be paid money to generate them the document at a fee.
He said women groups should hold up to 100 people, group of people living with disabilities to have 10 people while the youth groups should hold 20 people.
