They say an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. If this is true, then Satan must be smiling at the numerous workshops he probably owns on campus.

Hell is seemingly not running out of furniture nowadays! Why so? Well, there has never been a year that comrades have been idler than this one.  2017 should just end already because if this goes on, the true meaning of ‘the devil’s workshop’ will come to the fore.

It all started with the August Elections. In the run-up to the polls, the campus went on a slow down. Procrastinating lecturers used the polls as an excuse to miss lectures and postpone classroom activities. Anytime one of those goddamned ‘focussed’ folks followed the lecturer to ask about classroom projects that were not taking off, they were given a common answer:

“We shall do that after the elections.” It’s like ‘after elections’ was the ethereal moment when the planet would turn into some sort of paradise where everything would be accomplished at a snap.

Anyway, we thank the lazy lecturers for saying so at least, the backbenchers had free time for some unholy misadventures without worrying about classwork.

Obliging people resumed. Apparently, nothing much happened. Lecturers resumed their usual ‘after election’ excuse and classes kept on bouncing. The only thing that went down was the moral levels at the hostels. The weather is favorable anyway! A few weeks later, the campus was then again closed to allow people participate in the repeat election.

The climate only favors some campus misadventures that comrades must enjoy to the fullest. It just sums up the fact that comrades have been very idle this year.
