Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has stated that 'important' institutions like courts and election bodies should remain strong and transparent in order to gain trust from the public.

Governor Mbugua said this in his office on Thursday during a meeting with a delegation from Malawi and Zimbabwe at the county headquarters.

"Many Kenyans look upon institutions such as courts and electoral bodies for the right answers and solutions because they hold the key to peace and stability in the country," said the county chief.

The meeting, which was also attended by Nakuru County Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto, saw the delegation, which was on a bench marking mission on peace and reconciliation matters hold meetings to learn on issues related to maintaining peace in a cosmopolitan area.

The governor, together with his deputy had earlier on Thursday presided over opening of a Marie Stopes clinic in the county located on the 3rd Floor of Masters Plaza.
