Rich or poor, young or old, an unplanned pregnancy can really shake you up. Realizing that you are unexpectedly pregnant can be heavy. A lot of work goes into taking care of babies and raising children. The shock is quite understandable. The scary part is that you are 'forced' to accept it soon since the baby is already inside you. Unlike other situations where you can take a minute to get used to the idea, pregnancy rushes you. Pregnancy brings a lot of changes so you don't even get enough space to get used to the idea. You sort of grow into it as the baby develops. Once you accept that it is really happening, it is all about taking care of yourself. Take a closer look at your lifestyle and know what to stop or start doing. The dos and don'ts of pregnancy! Lay off the alcohol, cigarettes and anything that isn't healthy for the baby. Though it was unplanned, you have to start saving up for the baby. Even with all the changes, you still have to remain focused to ensure that the baby will be provided for. It helps when the father is supportive financially and emotionally. Close friends and family having your back also makes it easier to make the transition. Whatever happens, try to avoid stress by leaning on the support system you have.
