When the Jubilee alliance resolved to form a coalition in 2013 to counter Cord's advance towards the polls, the political group joined hands with various leaders.
President Uhuru Kenyatta's TNA party and Deputy President William Ruto's URP party led the way in the Jubilee coalition formation.
Other political leaders in the alliance included Charity Ngilu and Najib Balala who all came together to form the Jubilee alliance that claimed victory in 2013 poll.
A late comer in that alliance was Amani National Congress' Musalia Mudavadi who had viewed a coalition with Jubilee would be stronger.
However, Mudavadi failed to join the alliance when he stated that the group's top officials failed to honour their part of the bargain.
His ANC party was duped and recently, he said he would not work with Jubilee.
But Mudavadi is not the only politician who has been duped in as far as the history of Kenya is concerned.
In 2002, the 'Kibaki Tosha' slogan made headlines in readiness for the 2002 elections.
At the time, former President Mwai Kibaki was the presidential candidate under the Narc coalition.
His main chief campaigner was ODM leader Raila Odinga who initiated the 'Kibaki Tosha' slogan.
After winning the elections and forming the government, Raila and Kibaki fell out with Raila promising to never work with Kibaki again.
Leaders who have been duped in politics have learnt the hard way.
They have learnt never to trust anyone in the political field and they have in most cases joined rival camps to avenge their betrayal.
This clearly proves that political leaders who are once bitten shy away and avoid the political camps that initially duped them like a plague.
Musalia and Raila claim to have been duped many times in the politics of Kenya.
They have for long cried foul and accused their partners of being greedy by not honouring their part of the bargain.
The leaders have been left with bitter tastes which have affected their political courses.
However, in politics there are always no permanent enemies and such leaders, to me, will one day again, work together with those who duped them.
