Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to include individual parties who have refused to be swallowed by Jubilee Party.

Speaking on Monday after attending initiates ceremony at Cheptiret market, Keter said this will reduce defection to other political parties.

"The idea of forming the Jubilee Party was on point but forcing other political parties to be disintegrated and form one political party is out of order and a threat to democracy," he said.

The lawmaker said that by forcing other political parties to form one party, Kenya will be taken back to the old days where the country was only governed by one political party.

"I don't support that move and I won't join the party. If retired President Moi didn't unite the country where there was one political party why are Jubilee Party officials cheating us they will do that," he added.

He challenged President Kenyatta and Ruto to bring on board other parties by not necessarily disbanding them but allowing the coalition of other parties.

"I urge the Jubilee Party officials to ensure that they get ideas from all parties that formed the Jubilee Coalition government.

Keter pointed out that doing this will guarantee Jubilee becomes a formidable party that will win the 2017 elections instead of bulldozing  other parties to disintegrate.
