A Nairobi -based lawyer Steve Mogaka has urged the clergy to include electoral education in their programmes as a way of ensuring the sustenance of the country's democracy.
Speaking on Sunday at Gesore PAG Church where he presided over a funds drive, Mogaka noted that the Church plays a critical role in ensuring that the masses make informed decisions during elections.
"Our churches play a very important role in ensuring that the country's democracy thrives especially as we gear up for next year's general election," he said.
"I call on our religious leaders to help in educating the populace so that they can make an informed choices in the coming elections. The impact of the church in matters democracy and elections is huge," he added.
Mogaka who is eyeing the West Mugirango seat seeks to take over from the current MP James Gesami who has declared his interest in the Nyamira County governorship seat.
