The Alliance has written to the cabinet secretary for education Dr Fred Matiang’i outlining the need why they should be brought on board.

The Director of the Alliance Moses Aol said that as educational players they have been completely ignored.

“This is to put to your attention to take notice that we as Track one learners alliance protection have noted with a lot of regrets that as payers in education sector, we have been completely ignored,” read part of the letter.

Aol said they will play a significant role in the deliberations to come up with an all inclusive curriculum for the development of the country’s education.

“As players in education sector, our concerns have been access to the best education curriculum that promotes individual child’s growth,” said Aol.

Addressing a press conference in Kisumu on Friday in the company of the organization CEO Innocent Masara, Aol emphasized on the need to carry out thorough implementation of the curriculum.

He said that even if the country develops a new curriculum and there is no strong implementation then it will be an effort in futility.

Aol said lack of personnel form the education ministry is to blame for failure to implement the curriculum.

He cited the quality assurance officers who have only been posted one per county and are required to cover at least five sub counties.

“The government must ensure that they invest heavily one education and employ adequate staffs that are qualified and able to monitor the implementation of curriculum,” he said.

Masara on his part appealed to Dr. Matiang’i to give out the guideline that will help in the election of Parents Teachers Association.

He said that the selection should be done by 1st of July this year yet the stakeholders are still in the dark.

“This is a humble request to the CS to ensure that his office work out on the guidelines that will guide the process of selection or rather election of members of this Association,” he said.
