A lobby group has told Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich to increase funding for Nakuru Level 5 hospital in the 2018/2019 Financial Year.
Nakuru County Public Opinion Consultative Initiative secretary, Daniel Murugu, said if the country is to realize one of the Big Four agenda among them promoting affordable healthcare, the hospital must be allocated enough funds.
Big Four agenda is president Uhuru Kenyatta blueprint for a second term in office.
“More funds should be given to the hospital to help in improving service delivery to over two million residents seeking medical care at the facility,” Murugu said.
He challenged leaders from county to push for more funds to be channeled to the facility.
These funds, he said, will be used to improve infrastructure, buy equipments and drugs.
“Workers at the hospital should have good working conditions, more drugs for patients and improved treatment equipments and this can only be achieved through funding the hospital,” he added.
