Homa Bay senator Moses Kajwang' says independent candidates in the forthcoming August polls are political opportunists who are out for selfish gains.
However, Kajwang' reiterated that independent candidates that did not participate in any party primaries are the only genuine candidates for the August polls.
"All independent candidates who participated in the party primaries are out for selfish gains. They lost in the primaries but are out again to run for political seats. In short, they are political opportunists," said Kajwang'.
Speaking during an interview on a local television station, Sunday, Kajwang' further said the Jubilee party would not get 11 million votes.
According to the senator, Kenyans had suffered enough under the Jubilee leadership and would not vote for the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
