Independent candidates in Turbo constituency race have shelved their political ambitions in support of Janet Rotich Sitienei who is vying as an independent candidate.Led by Ishmael Songok, they said they will campaign for her to ensure she clinches the parliamentary seat. "We will use our resources to ensure Janet becomes our MP come August 8.We have not been coerced or forced by anyone to step down," he said in Jua Kali town, Friday. “We respect our leader Deputy President William Ruto by supporting president Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election but down here we will chose our leaders,” he added.Sitienei lauded the move saying she was confident of emerging victorious in the forthcoming elections. “I'm humbled by your support. I promise never to let you down by fulfilling what I promised the electorate," she said. She urged Uasin Gishu residents to support her bid by voting her in the August elections. In the April Jubilee party primaries Janet came second with 4,816 votes losing to Kevin Okwara who garnered 5,509 votes.
