Political activist Brian Weke has dismissed the impact independent presidential candidates will have in the forthcoming August general elections.
According to Weke, they do not have the capabilities to survive in Kenya's political 'tsunami' scene and will be easily defeated.
"The independent presidential candidates in the country will not have any effect in the forthcoming general elections in any given way. They will not withstand the 'tsunami' coming in August," said Weke.
Weke further said that the politics in the country is guided by parties and one can only make a niche by joining a political party.
The activist believes the August polls is a two-horse race between Nasa's Raila Odinga and Jubilee party's Uhuru Kenyatta.
"The Kenyan politics is guided by parties in the country and that is why the independent candidates will get it hard come August. The general elections in August is all about a two-horse race between Raila and Uhuru," added Weke.
Weke made the remarks during an interview on a local radio station, Tuesday.
